CHROMIUM CHELATE Chromium is a trace mineral that plays a key role in modulating the action of insulin as a component of glucose tolerance factor or glucose tolerance factor (GTF).
Food sources rich in chromium include brewer's yeast, meats, fish and shellfish, whole grains, potatoes, peas, dairy products, nuts, and egg yolk. Chromium deficiency may lead to insulin resistance ( low sensitivity of cells to the action of insulin) and elevated blood glucose levels; glycosuria, fasting hyperglycemia, increased cholesterol and blood triglycerides may also occur.
